AU professors honoured by Mirzo-Ulugbek district and Tashkent city administrations

A group of AU professors was awarded by the administrations of Mirzo-Ulugbek district and Tashkent city with the certificates of honour. The certificates of honour were handed over to professors within the celebration of the Teachers’ and Mentors’ Day in Uzbekistan, which is marked on 1 October. Dean of Arts and Humanities School Munisa Muhtarova, Deputy Dean of Medical School Dr. Niladri Maiti, as well as professors Alisher Dedakhanov, Farhod Eshmatov and Dr Muhammad Saiful Islam Khan received the certificate for their dedicated work in the education sector.

AU and Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE, UK) will partner to improve the teaching of English language in Uzbekistan. Navbahor Imamova, a prominent Uzbek journalist at the Voice of America, visited AKFA University (AU) to familiarize herself with the educational programs of the first private higher education in Uzbekistan. Seven applicants win fully-funded AU Excellence Scholarships

Seven applicants won the fully-funded AU Excellence Scholarships (AUES) for 2022-2023 academic year. In line with the decision of the admission committee, Humoyunmirza Bahodirov, Laziza Abdullaeva, Samandar Ergashaliev, Shuhratjon Zayniddinov, Nazirjon Rakhimov and Barno Rustamova won the fully funded scholarship. AU is happy to announce that the 2022-2023 academic year will start on 12 September. Before that, on 5-9 September, freshmen (first-year students) should attend the orientation days. AU Academic Affairs published the academic calendar for the upcoming academic year. All students, faculty members, staff should follow the Academic calendar as it is officially acclaimed with Order 58 by the Department of Academic Affairs. The first semester will end on 30 December 2022. After a small break, students will continue their studies from 6 February 2023. AU Professor publishes research article in the journal “Cell Death Discovery”

AU Professor Sanjar Madrakhimov published a research article in the journal "Cell Death Discovery" (5-year Impact Factor 5.302). The topic of the article is “Role of mTORC1 activity during early retinal development and lamination in human-induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived retinal organoids”. He contributed to this research during his PhD program and after graduation from Soon-Chun-Hyang University Medical School, South Korea. He rewrote and reviewed the whole manuscript.

AU announces Motivation Letter Contest winners

Eight people became the winners of the Motivation Letter Contest of the AU. All of them will receive scholarships for one semester. AU organized the Motivation Letter Contest for the school graduates or applicants, who will graduate from School/Lyceum/College this year in Uzbekistan. About 91 applicants submitted their motivation letters to the contest.
