Akfa University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program is an undergraduate law degree that equips students with unique legal education providing thorough grounding in international law, as well as comparative studies of key concepts, principles, procedures and methodologies underpinning the Uzbek legal system. Besides the traditional careers in the legal profession, LLB prepares graduates for diverse careers but also for a wide range of careers in government, business and community organisations – as leaders, innovators and problem solvers.

Akfa University Law School offers Law Program that teaches a rigorous engagement with the area of intersection between law, finance and business studies which is highly sought after by law firms, financial institutions and regulators. It combines a highly analytic academic core with tailor-made practical applications derived from continuing collaboration with the legal industry and its participants including government institutions, regulators, investment banks, law firms and others. We truly believe that after graduating from this Program, our students will already become qualified professionals and practitioners to meet the needs of the legal industry.

LLB Program is designed to prepare not only legal experts, but also managers and entrepreneurs to exercise effective leadership and judgment in confronting the law-sensitive issues they will face as they guide their organizations and plan their own careers. The Program examines legal issues affecting business organizations operating in a global environment and gives an opportunity to critically analyze key themes of finance and business law. The Program intends to give all necessary knowledge, skills, and qualifications to the student, so that they can get directly involved in legal industry in various roles. At the end of the Program, successful students will have an opportunity to graduate with Uzbek Advocates license as well as English solicitor qualification which means the students can practice law both under Uzbek & English law.

The major-specific objectives of the program are to help students:

  • Acquire knowledge, understanding and application of underlying legal concepts and principles of common law
  • Learn to analyze and critically evaluate legal and relevant non-legal primary and secondary materials applying to complex factual situations
  • Develop transferable skills of legal research, writing, problem-solving and communication
  • Understand inter-relationship between law and business including the effects of globalization, international law, technological developments and regulation
  • Demonstrate a critical awareness and understanding of the position and rule of law, both in relation to specific subjects and generally within its social, economic, commercial, political, historical, ethical and/or cultural contexts
  • Evaluate and explore the contribution finance and financial management makes to understand and inform business behaviour and performance through the analysis of complex and multi-faceted problems from a range of natural, global and political contexts.

LLB opens up a world of career options a variety of roles in the private and government sectors. Employers include government organizations and non-government organizations (NGOs) involved in areas such as consumer protection, competition policy, financial regulation, trade policy and legal assistance. Here are some examples of careers for the Program graduates:


Lawyers are employed in law firms or private practices and usually advise clients about their legal issues, negotiate legal matters by providing advice, writing documents, representing clients or presiding over civil and criminal law court proceedings.

Corporate lawyer

A corporate lawyer works for a company, advising executives against business decisions that could lead to legal action and representing the company in the court. They are also responsible for using their expertise to create and edit corporate contracts to ensure they are not breaking any laws.

Litigation attorney

A litigation attorney or lawyer is hired to help in civil lawsuits, either on the side of the defendant or the plaintiff party. Their job is to guide their client through pre-, peri- and post-trial events, defending their case, setting plea deals or arranging appeals.

Arbitrators, Mediators, and Conciliators

Arbitrators, mediators, and conciliators facilitate negotiation and dialogue between disputing parties to help resolve conflicts outside of the court system.

Banking lawyer

Attorneys who specialize in banking law can either work as government regulators who enforce the consumer protection rules and other laws that banks must follow, or they can provide legal advice and representation to banks themselves.

Compliance officer

A compliance officer, or a compliance manager, ensures that a company follows all laws and regulations while operating its business. Compliance officers can review a company’s records to look for any inconsistencies in their legality, develop new procedures for businesses to implement that promote following applicable laws and regulations.

Tax lawyer

Tax lawyers frequently assist clients with tax troubles and may even get involved with tax litigation against the government. Some tax attorneys work for the government as regulators.

  • Lyceum, college or high school graduates in Uzbekistan or abroad;
  • Lyceum, college or high school students in Uzbekistan or abroad who are studying in their final year;
  • Applicants who passed the English Proficiency Requirements
  • Successful completion of the Entrance exam
